The newly named Electric Ireland Women's Challenge Cup provided a shock on its debut as current holders Linfield Ladies were knocked out by Sion Swifts.
The "Tie of the second round" proved to be just that as goals from Chloe McGlade and Kendra McMullan sealed the win.
Both sides rose to the occasion from the off testing each other in the opening periods with Sion Swifts proving a match for Linfield.
McGlade broke the deadlock with a lob over the Linfield keeper just before half time giving them a deserved lead.
The current holders came out in the second half with purpose trying to take the game to their opponents with Sion Swifts protecting their goal advantage.
But, on 85 minutes Swifts countered perfectly with another lob, this time by Kendra McMullan, sealing their spot in the third round and knocking out the current holders in the process.
The player of the match award, presented by Trevor Hogg of the Irish FA Women's Committee, was given to Sion Swifts' Claragh Connor.
