Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill has been speaking about the squad’s training camp in Manchester this week.
A number of new faces came into the squad and O’Neill said there has been a few nice surprises and explained how he believes some of the younger players can grow within the senior setup.
While the team will be without Conor Washington & Jamie Ward for the forthcoming matches against New Zealand and Azerbaijan, O’Neill did praise the form of Ross County striker Liam Boyce, who finished as top goal-scorer in the Scottish Premiership this season.
