Every week across Northern Ireland thousands give up their time and effort to provide footballing opportunities for people of all ages, ability and ethnicity.
They organise fixtures, coach, referee, run committees and more. People and Clubs is the Irish FA Foundation's programme for people in clubs.
The People and Clubs development plan was designed in 2018 so that its outputs accurately reflect the views and aspirations of clubs.
It also takes into account the views of organisations that support clubs including: Sport NI, council sports development teams, activity providers, universities and the Department for Communities as well as the Irish FA Foundation staff who will play a role in its implementation.
We see this as an exciting, innovative and ever-evolving programme.
In September 2022, the People and Clubs Online Platform was successfully launched, which hosts a range of free club development resources that clubs across Northern Ireland can avail of. The online platform currently includes:
- A Club Accreditation portal that clubs can achieve their Minimum Operating Standard and Club Accreditation status.
- An E-Learning tab which links clubs and volunteers to a range of interactive modules around key club development topics.
- A club templates tab, which have useful template documents that clubs can adapt and utilise for their own volunteers and development.
- A media resources tab that includes video case studies and recordings of previous webinar delivery.
