Captain David Ogilby believes Coleraine can lift their first Tennent's Irish Cup since 2003 as they face Linfield on Saturday.
The Bannsiders last lifted the cup 14 years ago when they beat Glentoran thanks to an 11th minute goal from Jody Tolan. Since then they have appeared in two finals with their most recent in 2008 where they lost 2-1 to Saturday's opponents.
And now the central defender wants to rewrite history. He said: "It's a big occasion for Coleraine. It's been nine years since our last Irish Cup final. It's a great opportunity to win some silverware and it's going to be a challenge but it's one we are looking forward to.
"We've had a fairly successful season finishing third and qualifying for Europe but there's one game left and it's the showpiece event at the end of the season. We're very determined to lift the cup on Saturday."
Being in the decider brings extra attention and the captain praised those on the North Coast who have shown their support. He said: "There's a serious buzz about the place.
"If you drive up the Ballycastle Road you'll see the place is decked out in blue and white. The social media has created a buzz and Coleraine haven't had a big day out in nine years so as a group of players we want to make this the norm.
"There's much more hype now in the week leading up to it. There's things going on that are different to the normal league game week and we will enjoy it, but come Saturday at 2.30pm we need to be serious."
Linfield were crowned Danske Bank Premiership champions on Saturday and will be looking to complete a treble after also winning the Co Antrim Shield.
On his opponents, Ogilby said: "They are favourites, I think they are 19 unbeaten and obviously they have just won the league. It's a big challenge but one we believe we can overcome."
