The National Finals of the Neymar JR Fives tournament took place at Titanic Slipways in Belfast at the weekend.
Last year’s winners, Distillery Elites, came out on top with a 5-1 win over Ulimitatey to secure top spot and a place in the World Finals in Sao Paul, Brazil, in July.
Over 130 teams took part in this year’s regional finals, marking a significant increase from 12 months ago.
Recruitment and Retention officer for the Irish FA Foundation, Kris Lindsay, said;
“This year’s tournament was bigger and better than last year.
“This unique game of street football encourages innovation and rewards skill which resulted in high levels of excitement and entertainment in all the games.
“With 685 players between the ages of 16 and 25 taking part over the duration of the tournament the Neymar JR Fives fits perfectly with the ethos of diversity and participation that are the cornerstones of the Irish Football Associations ‘Let Them Play’ Strategy.”
