Visit a Girls Development Centre in your area

The Northern Ireland Women’s International Department are inviting girls born in 2007, 2008 and 2009 to join our Girls’ Regional Development Centres.

The aim is to give young girls the opportunity to play football in sessions taken by qualified coaches within a fun and friendly environment.

These centres are in all counties of Northern Ireland but begin in Larne, Ballymoney and Banbridge on Tuesday 2 May and run through until 8 May.

Women's Football Ambassador Julie Nelson and current Northern Ireland defender shared why these centres are so important to girls football in the country: "I grew up playing football on a recreational basis alongside boys and would have loved to have had the chance to take part in structured sessions, by qualified coaches from such a young age.

“We want to provide opportunities for all girls to play football and we want to continue the progress being made at International level by creating a clear pathway to pick our future stars.”
