A superb second-half hat-trick from Mark Cutler sent Enniskillen Rangers through to the final of this season's IFA Junior Cup.
Cutler's contribution was enough to ensure that Newry Celtic came out on the wrong side of a 5-0 score-line. And yet Newry could have gone ahead in the opening minutes but Stephen Lowry. perhaps caught by surprise couldn't get his shot on target.
A short spell of Newry pressure was followed by one at the other end by Enniskillen in a game that ebbed and flowed on the slick Holm Park surface in front of a good crowd. Both goalkeepers made good stops in the space of five minutes, Barry McParland denied Enniskillen's Stuart Rainey before Jerome Carelton pushed away Colm Fegan's volley.
Lowry had another great chance on 38 minutes following a deflection but his angled drive flashed wide of goal and then Enniskillen upped the tempo to go on front on 40 minutes, Andrew Johnston netting at the back post following a flick on.
And another goal in added time made the tie an uphill task for the Carnbane League side. Joseph Doogan was brought down inside the box by keeper McParland and he made no mistake from the penalty spot on 45+4 minutes.
Credit to Newry who tried to get back into the game after the break but it wasn't their night or Lowry's night, the Newry number seven hitting the bar on 51 minutes. Carelton then denied Fegan before things went downhill for Newry.
The best move of the night came on 55 minutes, Stuart Rainey raced down the line before firing in a great cross that Cutler headed down and in
It got worse though for Liam Evan's men - on the hour mark Kieran McCann was sent off and from the resulting free kick, Cutler raced in to net despite a great double save from McParland.
Enniskillen could have added to their total but in the end Cutler grabbed the head-lines with a twenty yard curling effort to complete his hat-trick five minutes from time, and that marked a fine win for the Fermanagh & Western Football League side.
