Women’s U15s to take on Scotland in friendly

Northern Ireland’s Women’s Under-15s are set to face their Scottish counterparts in an international challenge match next month.

The friendly on 14 February will be a preparation game for the U15 development squad ahead of the annual Bob Docherty Tournament, which is being staged in Northern Ireland this year.

The Parklea sports complex in Port Glasgow is the venue for the game against Scotland’s WU15s on St Valentine’s Day.

The Northern Ireland team is set to be managed by Stephen Graham, who will be assisted by Jack Little and Heather Mearns. Graham has chosen an 18-strong squad for the trip to Scotland.

The annual Bob Docherty Tournament, run by the Schools’ Association Football International Board (SAFIB), is for Under-15 schoolgirls’ teams, although the respective squads usually feature several players involved in national development set-ups.

This year’s tournament is being staged in Northern Ireland in mid-April.

The Northern Ireland Women’s U15 development squad for next month’s friendly in Scotland features:

Defenders – Grace Steele (Magherafelt High School), Sara Devany (Regent House, Newtownards), Ellie-Mae Turner (City of Armagh High School), Autumn Edgar (Craigavon Senior High), Anayah Lee (Thornhill College), Caitlin Shields (Grosvenor Grammar, Belfast).
