Northern Ireland midfielder Toni-Leigh Finnegan has signed for Scottish club Aberdeen Women.
The 23-year-old has moved to Aberdeen from reigning NIFL Women’s Premiership champions Cliftonville Ladies.
She sees the switch to the Scottish Women’s Premier League as “the natural next step” in her career.
Finnegan, who is also an accomplished central defender, has been a key member of the Reds’ senior team in recent seasons after progressing from the north Belfast club's academy.
She has eight caps for Northern Ireland to date. She made her debut against Ukraine in a 4-0 defeat in March 2020 in the Pinatar Cup.
Her last appearance for her country was in a 1-0 friendly win over Italy in November 2022, although her last call-up into the squad was for a double header with Montenegro in February 2024.
Last season she played 24 games and scored two goals as Cliftonville won the NIFL Women’s Premiership with a 100 per cent record, earning them the ‘Invincibles’ tag, as well as the Electric Ireland’s Women’s Challenge Cup and the League Cup.
She told Aberdeen’s website: "I'm really excited to be at Aberdeen. It is a big move in my career, and I'm excited to get started and learn from Scott (Booth – Aberdeen’s manager) and the rest of the girls.
"I feel like this is the natural next step for me."
