Northern Ireland defender Ruairi McConville has signed for EFL Championship side Norwich City.
The 19-year-old has moved to the Canaries from Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion, whom he joined from Linfield in 2021.
McConville has won two senior caps to date. He made his debut as a substitute in the 2-0 win against Belarus in the UEFA Nations League back in November before making his full debut a few days later in the 2-2 UNL draw away to Luxembourg.
The teenage defender, who has also played for his country at Under-17, U19 and U21 level, has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with Norwich.
The transfer fee is believed to be in the region of £1.25million, rising to over double that amount with add-ons.
McConville, who recently made his senior debut for Brighton, featuring from the bench against Norwich in the Emirates FA Cup, said he was “very excited” to be joining Norwich and to work under Danish head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup.
The central defender said: “I feel it's the right move for me at the right time. I'm buzzing to get started and to get in and meet everyone.
"After speaking with Johannes and seeing how he plays, we're both ambitious and have the same goals. I'm excited to work with him and hopefully we can get back into the Premier League."
