
Sports Medicine NI has become an official partner and supplier of the Irish FA and the Irish FA JD Academy.
SMNI is a specialised sports and exercise medicine clinic based in Belfast which provides comprehensive management services for athlete injuries and overall health.
Under a two-year non-exclusive partnership deal it will be working with the Irish FA JD Academy to provide a range of medical services to players, including full heart screen, baseline concussion testing and rehabilitation.
Gareth Robinson, a Director at Sports Medicine NI, said: “We are excited about the opportunity to work with the JD Academy and know we can complement the excellent support services that are currently available to the players.”
The SMNI team is led by Medical Director Dr Alan Rankin, who is a Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant.
Medical services provided by the company include sports and exercise medicine, concussion baseline testing and post-injury therapy, sports physiotherapy, sports nutrition, sports psychology, physical performance coaching and team testing, offering an holistic approach to any athlete or team player.
Kris Lindsay, National Academy Manager at the Irish FA, said: “We are looking forward to working with the team at SMNI to enhance and support the existing medical provision for our young players within the Irish FA JD Academy.
“The expert services they provide, especially around cardiac screening and concussion, will add another layer to the medical care provided to our young athletes.”
