Glentoran cruised into the last eight of the Clearer Water Irish Cup with a comprehensive defeat of Ballymacash Rangers at the Bluebell Stadium.
Warren Feeney's side needed just ten minutes to open the scoring when Shay McCartan rifled the ball past keeper Brian Neeson after Daire O'Connor had cut back a David Fisher pass into his path.
The visitors doubled their lead just before half-hour mark through Niall McGinn who unleashed a terrific finish into the top right corner from the edge of the area.
Skipper Marcus Kane added a third on 39 minutes as the ball fell for him from a quickly taken McGinn free-kick before, a minute from the break, Fisher knocked home a fourth from the spot after Neeson was penalised for a challenge on Seanan Clucas.
The scoring continued seven minutes into the second half with O'Connor becoming the latest player to get his name on the scoresheet with a finish from point blank range from Jonathan Russell's ball to the back post.
Charlie Lindsay came close to adding a sixth soon after only to smash an effort off the crossbar from outside the box.
Ballymacash did pull one back on the hour, however, when former Glentoran man Carl McComb directed home a low Jack Smith cross from inside the box.
The visitors had the ball in the net again when O'Connor thought he had doubled his tally for the evening with a deflected volley past Neeson but his 'goal' was ruled out offside.
But Glentoran's sixth did arrive with 12 minutes remaining, this time courtesy of Bobby Burns scrambling the ball home after Aaron Wightman had worked his way through the defence to lay the ball off.
