The Northern Ireland senior women’s team will be training in Leicester ahead of the upcoming UEFA Women’s Nations League play-off matches against Montenegro.
A two-day training camp is to be held at Leicester City Women’s training ground as the team prepare for the games on 23 February (away) and 27 February (home).
Senior women’s team manager Tanya Oxtoby will be putting the Northern Ireland squad through their paces at the Belvoir Drive training ground in the East Midlands city on Monday 19 February and on the following day.
Northern Ireland boss Oxtoby (pictured) said: "I am really excited about this double header and to get the group back together in fresh surroundings is something I feel will help add to our preparations.
"We're delighted to be linking up with Leicester City Women for this and looking forward to putting the work in to ultimately give our special fans something to cheer about when we head back to Belfast."
Northern Ireland will benefit from the use of LCFC Women’s award-winning training pitches and first class medical facilities during the two-day camp in Leicestershire.
An LCFC Women spokesperson said: "We are looking forward to hosting Northern Ireland at Belvoir Drive later this month as part of their UEFA Women’s Nations League preparations.
"King Power Stadium (home of Leicester’s men’s and women’s teams) has already hosted international women’s football this season and we’re delighted that the elite level facilities at Belvoir Drive are now being utilised by our international colleagues. We wish Northern Ireland good luck in their upcoming play-off fixtures.”
The squad for the games against Montenegro is due to be announced early next week.
