The Irish Football Association has announced the renewal of its long-standing partnership with Ticketmaster, a global leader in events ticketing.
The renewal solidifies the commitment of both organisations to an elevated fan experience with a focus on technology-driven solutions.
Prior to the new deal being signed, a robust assessment of ticket providers was performed by the Irish FA in collaboration with the Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters' Clubs (AONISC).
The partnership between the association and Ticketmaster has been instrumental in providing Northern Ireland fans with seamless access to tickets for major international competitions. Over the years Ticketmaster has played a crucial role in streamlining the ticketing process, ensuring a smooth and secure experience for fans.
The new agreement will cover several improvements in user experience, including simple methods of ticket transfer and the introduction of potential for ticket resale opportunities.
Other innovative initiatives will also become available, such as near field technology offering tap and go entry at turnstiles, resulting in faster entry to the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park.
"We are excited to extend our partnership with Ticketmaster, a company known for its innovation and dedication to delivering unparalleled ticketing support for fans," said Graham Fitzgerald, Chief Operating Officer at the Irish FA.
"Together we have created a platform that not only simplifies ticket purchasing but also contributes to the overall ease of stadium entry and matchday operation, giving all of our stakeholders a more enjoyable event experience.”
The COO also thanked members of AONISC for taking part in the assessment process.
He said: “It was great to have AONISC involved. Their contribution and representation of our fans’ perspectives was invaluable.
“Both ourselves and Ticketmaster would also like to express our gratitude to all Northern Ireland fans for their continued support and look forward to delivering an enhanced and memorable experience for all football enthusiasts in the years to come.”
The renewed partnership will see Ticketmaster continue to provide cutting-edge ticketing solutions for all Irish FA events, leveraging its advanced technology to enhance the complete fan journey.
AONISC chairman Gary McAllister said: “Part of the discussions we had with the Irish FA around ticketing in 2021 included an agreement that the AONISC would be part of the panel which selected the Irish FA ticketing provider.
“We participated in several meetings, including presentations by the various bidders, and our representatives are satisfied that Ticketmaster can provide the necessary level of expertise and support and that the services they provide will continue to evolve.
“As well as continued access to interest-free payment plans for Campaign Card holders, the inclusion of a greater number of matches within the Campaign Package reduces the frequency when booking charges need to be paid and this is to be welcomed."
Under the new deal Ticketmaster will also provide the Irish FA with valuable insights and data analytics to help optimise ticketing strategies, ultimately contributing to the growth and sustainability of football in Northern Ireland.
Keith English, Managing Director of Ticketmaster, said: “We are delighted to continue our relationship with the Irish Football Association and the team look forward to delivering our SafeTix technology - the next generation of digital ticketing set to elevate the fan experience at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park.”
