Northern Ireland international Casey Howe was the hero as she struck the winner for Glentoran Women who secured a closely fought win over Crusaders Strikers at the weekend.
The league leaders secured all three points when Howe let fly with a beautiful left-foot strike from the edge of the area in the dying embers of the game.
Her fellow Northern Ireland team-mate Kerry Beattie had opened the scoring for the Glens only for Strikers’ Amy McGivern to level for the hosts.
Sunday’s result means champions Glentoran are now four points clear of Cliftonville at the top of the standings, but the Reds have two games in hand.
