Northern Ireland internationals Lauren Wade and Kerry Beattie netted two goals each as Glentoran Women defeated Cliftonville Ladies in the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership.
The Glens emerged as 4-1 winners over the Reds, halting their 100 per cent winning record going into the game.
Northern Ireland skipper Marissa Callaghan, who also captains her club, was on target for Cliftonville. Her side still have a game in hand over the east Belfast outfit in what’s shaping up to be a fascinating title race.
Wade netted either side of Beattie’s first-half penalty and despite Callaghan pulling a goal back with 10 minutes remaining, Beattie added another in the closing stages to wrap up the victory.
Northern Ireland centurion Julie Nelson was the match winner for Crusaders Strikers as she scored a late winner to defeat Sion Swifts Ladies. Michelle McDaid’s second half header had drawn Sion level after Jessica Rea’s opener for the Crues.
Elsewhere Linfield Ladies ended a run of three successive league defeats as they came from one goal down to run out 4-1 victors at Derry City Women.
Caroline Gallagher gave Kevin McLaughlin’s side an early lead but two goals from Rebecca Bassett along with strikes from Katie Dickson and Victoria Carleton gave Linfield the victory.
