Northern Ireland’s U16s will face Finland’s U16s twice next week as they continue their preparations for this year’s Victory Shield competition.
Fresh from registering 2-0 and 5-2 wins over Estonia last month, Gerard Lyttle’s team will take on the Finns in challenge matches next Tuesday (17 September) and Thursday (19 September) in Urjala and Eerikkila respectively.
There are some new faces in Lyttle’s 18-strong squad for next week’s trip, including Peterborough United striker Bayley McCann.
Also fresh to the panel are Cliftonville’s Aiden Lillis along with Matty Carson and Conor Falls, who are among seven Glentoran players in the group.
After next week’s challenge matches in Finland the U16 Schoolboys will play Poland at home on Monday 14 October and Wednesday 16 October in preparation for the defence of the Victory Shield in Wales at the end of next month.
