Corry Evans fulfilled a childhood dream in Sarajevo as he led out Northern Ireland on his 50th cap.
Michael O’Neill’s side went down 2-0 against Bosnia & Herzegovina to suffer their third defeat in as many games in the UEFA Nations League.
However, it was still a night to remember for the Evans family: “It’s a proud moment for myself and for my family as well.
“It’s something I’ve always dreamed of since I was a kid. Thanks to Steven (Davis) for the letting me do it.”
The 2-0 score line didn’t reflect the overall 90 minutes as George Saville and Gavin Whyte between them hit the post three times.
Evans believes Northern Ireland just need to find that scoring touch, he said: “If you come away to places like Bosnia & Herzegovina and Austria and don’t t take your chances you are going to get punished. Match winners are key in international football.”
