Defender Tom Flanagan is glad to have got his International career underway in the Vauxhall International Challenge Match against New Zealand.
The Burton Albion player has featured regularly in squads since Euro 2016 and he is glad to have finally got on the pitch, he said: "I've been in every squad for this season, I have been sitting there patiently and getting frustrated but I can see why.
"It was really good to get it out of the way. Thats how people look at it when you are sat on the bench you want to get that first one out of the way because then you hope everything will take off from there."
Flanagan, who started in a back three alongside Aaron Hughes and Jonny Evans, was proud to line up alongside such experience in International football;
"It was crazy, obviously before the game Hughesy (Aaron Hughes) got his presentation with his 105th cap and I'm only just getting starting out so I couldn't ask for anymore experience.
"Jonny plays 45 games a season in the Premier League so couldn't ask for anyone better."
