Northern Ireland forward Kirsty McGuinness believes that her side will compete well in their opening game of 2017 as they face Portugal in the first of two friendlies tomorrow.
The women's team are currently ranked 59th in the world, while Portugal are 38th and have qualified for the UEFA Women's Euro 2017.
Even with that divide, McGuinness isn't focusing all her attention on the opposition. She said: "We know they are a good side and we do have that in our heads.
"But we are focused on us on and what we can do. We know they are good but we are good as well. Hopefully they won't be expecting what we have and will be surprised when we come out."
