Tommy Wright’s Northern Ireland U21 team will face England in a 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier next month with tickets now on sale.
Ballymena Showgrounds will host England on 6 September for a 7.45pm kick off with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors (under 16) and a family price of £25 for two adults and two juniors.
“This is a really important double header for the team,” said Wright. “It won’t be easy as we will be facing arguably the two best teams in the group but side we have also previously performed well against.
“Playing England at any time, particularly at home can be a great occasion for the players. We will be looking as ever to the Green and White Army to come out and support the players. Many of these under 21 players are gravitating quickly to the senior team which just shows the strength of our pathway, and the fans will be coming to support, in some cases, future full internationals.”
Wright will announce his squad at the end of August but confirmed that he will be without Sam McClelland and Craig Farquhar both of whom have suffered long term injuries.
“Injuries are never nice but it is particularly tough to see both Sam and Craig endure this at such an early stage of their career and before the season has started. My thoughts, and those of our wider backroom team, go to both players currently.”
