Over 16,000 Northern Ireland fans watched on as defender Eoin Toal and midfielder Brad Lyons made their international debuts.
Northern Ireland battled throughout following an early goal in the fourth minute from the visitors however the Slovenian side kept their narrow victory.
Northern Ireland will face Finland away on Friday 17 November.
