The Irish Football Association landed a double award win at the weekend recognising its digital content and social media output.
The digital team in the Irish FA’s communications department scooped Social Media In-House Team of the Year and Best Overall Use of Social Media at the Northern Ireland Social Media Awards, held at Belfast’s Crowne Plaza Hotel on Saturday evening (7 October).
The event honours and recognises freelancers, individuals, teams, agencies and businesses delivering excellence in social media marketing and content.
John Gillespie, Digital Content Manager at the Irish FA, said: “I am delighted our team has secured yet more successes at these prestigious awards.
“We won Best Overall Use of Social Media at the inaugural event in 2019. We retained that title, as well as picking up Most Innovative Use of Social Media and Best Overall Use of Social Media, in 2022 - the first staging of the event since Covid.
“To follow that up with a double win of awards is superb. Three consecutive wins in the Best Overall Use of Social Media is particularly pleasing.
“The team works hard to produce social media content showcasing the Northern Ireland national teams and the work that is delivered across the Irish FA.”
Danny Lynch, Director of Communications at the Irish FA, added: "We have a very talented group of people who ensure our social media content remains cutting edge, creative and funny.
“We promote not just what happens on the pitch but the raft of work off it; from community cohesion projects and other initiatives that demonstrate football as a force for good."
