Coleraine versus Cliftonville has been confirmed as BBC Sport NI’s televised fifth round tie, on Friday 5 January.
The Clearer Water Irish Cup encounter will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer and online on the BBC Sport NI website bbc.co.uk/sportni.
Cliftonville's Chris Gallagher reacted to last week's draw: "It's probably the stand out game of the whole draw, it's one that we will look forward to. In a cup game anything can happen, so it will be one we'll be right up for."
Cliftonville edged out Coleraine in last year’s sixth round, winning 3-1 on penalties after they were locked at 2-2, but couldn’t progress beyond the quarter-finals. Coleraine will hope home advantage gives them the edge this time around against a Cliftonville side currently sitting third in the Irish Premiership and will aim to reverse the 1-2 score line when they met at the Showgrounds in October.
Coleraine's David McDaid had this to say at the live Clearer Water Irish Cup fifth round draw:"They're the best team that we've played, (this year) I think. So it's probably the toughest draw we could have got. You have to beat the best teams to win a cup."
Clearer Water Irish Cup fifth round tie - Coleraine v Cliftonville will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer and www.bbc.co.uk/sportni on Friday 5 January 2024.
