Northern Ireland goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has left Burnley and signed a four-year deal with League One side Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old, who is closing in on a half-century of caps for his country, played 24 times for the Clarets in his five years at Turf Moor and also enjoyed successful loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday and last term with Danish outfit AGF Aarhus.
Speaking to BluesTV, the Darlington-born keeper said: “I’m really delighted to be here. It is a massive club with some huge ambitions for the coming years and to be a part of that is something I had to come and do.
“It is a big club first of all and I love playing for something where you have got the pressure – and we will have that pressure and expectation."
“We are at the start of a journey,” he added. “A very, hopefully, positive journey, and I want to be a part of that to achieve the goals and ambitions that the club has and they align with myself.
“We have a tough challenge this year in League One and we have got to take care of that and push on.”
Peacock-Farrell will be challenging for the number one spot at St Andrew’s next season with Ryan Allsop but he admits he is up for the challenge.
“I think it is key to have a good goalkeepers group. Like you said there, two good goalkeepers, so I am really happy with that.”
Peacock-Farrell, whose grandfather hails from Enniskillen, began his career at Leeds United, playing 29 first-team games for the Yorkshire side before departing to Burnley in August 2019 for a fee of £2.9 million.
He had a season-long loan at Sheffield Wednesday, helping them to the League One play-offs in 2021-22, and last season he ended up with a Danish Cup runners-up medal during another loan deal at AGF Aarhus.
Michael O’Neill gave him his full international debut in a scoreless friendly draw against Panama in May 2019 and last month he picked up his 46th cap in the 2-0 win over Andorra.
