More than 500 girls participated in this year’s Electric Ireland Super Schools Festival.
The festival featured three regional football tournaments across Northern Ireland.
The venues were Coleraine Showgrounds, Mid Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown and Brook Leisure Centre in Dunmurry.
Across the three venues 66 teams competed, with over 500 girls in the thick of the action.
The annual festival of football for girls in schools’ teams is aimed at getting them to play against their counterparts in different schools in a relaxed, flexible seven-a-side format.
At each regional tournament participating schools played each other in two different age groups (Years 8/9 and Years 10/11).
Danielle Hegarty, a PE teacher at St Louise's College in Belfast, said: “The Super Schools Festival was a fantastic day of football and fun for the girls. It was very well organised with lots of matches for them. It was brilliant to see so many teams playing football competitively and to a very high standard.”
Anne Smyth from sponsors Electric Ireland said: “This annual festival is part of our Game Changers movement to raise the profile of the women’s and girls’ game at all levels. Congratulations to all the teams who took part this year.”
