Northern Ireland U15s kicked off their UEFA development tournament with a comprehensive victory over the Faroe Islands.
A dominant display saw the young guns secure a 9-1 victory over their visitors at Newry Showgrounds with Player of the Match Freddie Murdock dictating the tempo of the game from midfield.
Northern Ireland were 5-0 up at the break with the impressive Luke Hawe grabbing a first-half hat-trick to compliment strikes from Joel Kerr and Calum Anderson.
Northern Ireland made six changes at the interval and the second half continued in a similar fashion to the first with the hosts continuing to dominate possession and control the game.
Further goals arrived courtesy of Eamonn Tohill, Charlie Campbell and Jake Hirthe but the pick of the bunch came from the left foot of substitute Caleb Sweeney whose powerful 25-yard drive flew into the net. The Faroes netted a consolation goal mid-way through the second half.
