The Northern Ireland senior women’s team’s friendly international against Scotland later this week is to be streamed live by the BBC.
The game on Friday (14 July) at Dens Park in Dundee will be broadcast on the BBC iPlayer as well as on BBC Scotland.
And the friendly international, which kicks off at 7.35pm, can also be followed live on the BBC Sport website and app.
Interim Northern Ireland Women manager Gail Redmond has chosen a 23-strong panel for the challenge match against Scotland – and a second friendly against Czechia in Opava next Tuesday (18 July).
Redmond has gone with a blend of youth and experience in her squad, including seven players from reigning NIFL Women’s Premiership champions Cliftonville Ladies, who yesterday secured their place in the inaugural All-Island Cup final thanks to a 1-0 win over Cork City at Solitude.
The only goal of the game was scored by Northern Ireland striker Caitlin McGuinness (pictured). A date/venue for the Reds’ final against Galway United is still to be confirmed.
Scotland Women head coach Pedro Martinez Losa has named a 22-strong squad for this Friday’s encounter with Northern Ireland and a friendly away to Finland next week.
The Scotland panel features several players who ply their trade in the FA Women’s Super League, including Chelsea star Erin Cuthbert, Aston Villa Women’s Rachel Corsie and Manchester United pair Kirsty Hanson and Martha Thomas, as well as three players from Scottish Women’s Premier League champions Glasgow City and six players from Rangers Women.
