An Irish FA coach has been recognised for his contribution to the development of youth football in Fermanagh and Tyrone.
Stephen Erskine works for the Irish FA Foundation as a Regional Grassroots Development Officer in the south-west/west of Northern Ireland.
He has been presented with the Services to Youth Sport Award by the Brendan Keogh Youth League.
One of the strongest youth leagues within Northern Ireland, BKYL currently features circa 140 teams who compete at Under-11 through to U19 age level. Many of the teams come from the youth sections of clubs that operate in the Fermanagh and Western Football League.
Davy McQuigg from BKYL said: “The award is given out each year to an individual who through his/her club or organisation has worked for the betterment of youth football in our area over a long period of years.
“Stephen, in his role with the Irish FA, has been a friend to all the clubs in the BKYL in a multitude of ways.”
The award was presented at the league’s annual Fair Play Awards gala, which this year was staged in the Silverbirch Hotel in Omagh.
