Northern Ireland’s Under-21s will face Luxembourg at home in the opening match of their UEFA U21 Euro 2025 qualification campaign.
Earlier today the U21s were drawn in Group F for the qualifying series along with top seeds England, Ukraine, Serbia, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.
The dates for the various matches have now been confirmed, however venues have still to be confirmed.
The home match against sixth seeds Luxembourg is scheduled for Thursday 7 September, while game two will see them come up against second seeds Ukraine away on Tuesday 12 September.
They face another long journey the following month as they are due to play fifth seeds Azerbaijan away on Thursday 12 October. Matchday four brings another home fixture, however. Serbia, third seeds in the group, will be visiting Northern Ireland on Monday 16 October.
Their final match of the qualifying series in 2023 will be away to England on Tuesday 21 November.
Next year’s qualifiers will see the U21s take on Serbia away on Tuesday 26 March, however they will then have to wait until September for their next competitive outing.
England are scheduled to visit Northern Ireland on Friday 6 September and Ukraine will provide the opposition at home on Tuesday 10 September.
The U21s are set to complete their campaign with two matches in October 2024. First up they will welcome Azerbaijan to Northern Ireland on Saturday 12 October and then they are off to Luxembourg for a game on Tuesday 15 October.
The 52 entrants involved in qualifying will compete between this March and November 2024 for 15 places at the final tournament in Slovakia. Slovakia automatically qualify for the tournament as hosts.
Both England and Ukraine have qualified for the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship finals, which are being staged in Romania and Georgia this summer.
