Northern Ireland senior women’s team will face Wales on Thursday 6 April (KO 19:15) at the Cardiff City Stadium in an international challenge match.
The match will be part of preparations for the new UEFA Nations League campaign that will get underway in September 2023. Northern Ireland last took on Wales in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 qualifying campaign, with the sides drawing on both occasions and culminated eventually in Northern Ireland securing an historic debut qualification at the tournament’s finals.
Director of Women’s Football, Angela Platt, said:
“This is a good test for the team against high quality opposition as we begin preparations for our next qualifying campaign. I know the players will be raring to go and really looking forward to this opportunity.
“The recruitment process has started for our new senior women’s manager for what will be an exciting new phase for the team.
“In addition, a lot of work is taking place behind the scenes to ensure we continue to build on our recent success. We are enlisting additional staff to work on our girl’s international pathway, furthering the work in our strategic plan around women and girls’ football and working hard to upskill more women who want to work off the pitch in administrative roles in football.”
Northern Ireland supporters hoping to travel to this game are advised to complete an Expression of Interest form as soon as possible, and no later than Thursday 23 February.
Tickets for the match will be priced as follows:
Adult - £8
Senior citizen (65+) - £6
Junior (16 and under) - £4
