Welders-Larne Irish Cup last eight clash to be livestreamed by BBC

The Samuel Gelston’s Whiskey Irish Cup quarter-final tie between Harland and Wolff Welders and Larne next month will be livestreamed by BBC Sport NI, it was announced today.

The Welders, who play in the NIFL Championship, will be hoping to claim a third NIFL Premiership scalp in the competition this year when they host high flying Larne on Friday 3 March.

In round five, the stage at which Premiership and Championship sides enter the fray each season, Paul Kee’s side won 2-1 away at Newry City and last Saturday they enjoyed a 1-0 away success against Glenavon in round six.

Larne edged past Linfield on penalties in the sixth round at the weekend to book their place in the last eight. In the fifth round Tiernan Lynch’s team defeated Crumlin United 3-0 at Inver Park.

The quarter-final tie on 3 March at the Welders’ Blanchflower Stadium will be livestreamed on BBC iPlayer and on the BBC Sport NI website (bbc.co.uk/sportni). Kick-off time is 7.45pm.
