Crusaders booked their place in round two of the Samuel Gelston’s Irish Cup with a convincing 4-0 win over Glenavon on Friday night.
A Paul Heatley brace as well as goals from Jordan Forsythe and Ben Kennedy saw the north Belfast outfit through against the Lurgan Blues at Mourneview Park.
It was Forsythe who drew first blood with just four minutes on the clock when he drilled a low shot past Glenavon stopper James Taylor.
The home side had the ball in the net twice after the opener but both were ruled out for offside.
The visitors doubled their advantage shortly before the hour mark when Heatley grabbed his first of the night by rounding Taylor and slotting the ball home.
Kennedy got his name on the scoresheet on 66 minutes with a lovely left-foot curling effort before Heatley found the bottom corner with 12 minutes to go.
Here’s a look at the remaining first round ties set to be played this afternoon.
