Newly-promoted Leyton Orient have snapped up Northern Ireland midfielder Ethan Galbraith on a two-year contract following his release from Manchester United.
The 22-year-old, who has two full international caps to his name, will once again be linking up with O’s boss Richie Wellens whom he played under during a loan stint at Doncaster Rovers two seasons ago.
“Richie was a big factor in me signing,” admitted Galbraith on joining the League One outfit. “I know how he likes to play, and how he wants to get the best out of his players, so it was a great fit.
“From playing against Leyton Orient last season, I got a good feel for the side here, and the style of football.”
During his six years at Old Trafford, Galbraith played one game for the Red Devils which came against Astana in a Europa League tie in November 2019.
He did, however, enjoy successful loan spells with Doncaster Rovers in 2021/22 and last term with Salford City where he scored four goals in 38 outings for the League Two side.
The former Linfield youth player was given his full international debut by Michael O’Neill when aged just 18 after coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 friendly win over Luxembourg in Belfast in September 2018.
