An Irish FA documentary charting the behind-the-scenes story of Northern Ireland’s participation at UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 will be available to view on the Northern Ireland National Team YouTube and Facebook channels this evening.
‘Why We Dance’ celebrates the senior women’s team’s debut appearance at a major tournament.
Kenny Shiels’ squad made history when facing some of the giants of women’s football in Europe when they took on Norway, Austria and eventual winners England in the group stage at the Euros back in July.
The 30-minute documentary, produced by the digital team in the Irish FA’s communications department, focuses on the achievement of reaching the finals, the players’ experiences at the Euros and their bond with the fans.
The film was first shown at a special screening for 160 invited fans staged in the Strand Arts Centre in east Belfast at the end of November.
‘Why We Dance’ was directed and edited by Andy McComb. It was shot by Ciaran Quinn, John Gillespie, David Cavan, Andy McComb, William Cherry, Thomas Fulton and Bernadette Hagans. Executive producers were Danny Lynch and John Gillespie.
