The Irish Football Association, Ulster Rugby and Ulster GAA is set to present an interactive online workshop - ‘Healthy Communities and Mental Health’ - as part of the Sport Uniting Communities project.
The event, set to be held on Wednesday 1 December (7.30pm), will focus on mental health within sports clubs and the support available from each organisation and / or their charity partners.
Joe Donnelly (TAMHI) will present on the work his organisation delivers to sports clubs and groups who use sport to raise awareness of mental health and resilience. He will also speak about Ahead of the Game, the Irish Football Association's mental health programme for football clubs.
Maura McMenamin, Ulster GAA's health and wellbeing officer, will also outline initiatives and strategies available to its clubs and members to promote positive mental health.
Representatives from charity Extern will detail the work it delivers in the field of mental health and discuss its links to Ulster Rugby.
