Northern Ireland under-19 international goalkeeper Ollie Webber has signed a new one-year professional deal with Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.
The 18-year-old, who was given his first professional contract last summer, joined the Eagles as a trainee from Glentoran three years ago and was part of the Palace title winning side of 2017/18.
Speaking exclusively to irishfa.com Ollie said: “I’m delighted to get another contract at such a big club.
“I really hope this propels my international career and hopefully I can push my way into the first-team frame at Palace.”
The opportunity of forcing his way into the first-team squad next term rose after 39-year-old Julian Speroni announced that he would be leaving at the end of the season after 15 years at Selhurst Park.
Webber was a regular member of the Palace under-23 panel this this term and he also had a very productive loan spell with non-league Greenwich Borough in the latter part of the campaign playing 15 games and keeping five clean sheets.
The Portsmouth-born netminder also made his debut for Stephen Frail’s under-19 side when he played in the 4-1 victory over Slovakia last September.
