Northern Ireland National Women’s Manager Alfie Wylie has called up six new faces to take part in a senior women’s international team training camp this weekend.
Among the players who will be training with the senior squad for the first time are goalkeepers Becky Flaherty (Everton Ladies) and Maddie Clifford (Crusaders).
Other new names are Gemma McGuinness of Derry City Ladies, who has played for the Republic of Ireland at underage level, as well as Lauren Robson (Manchester City), Abbie Magee (Linfield Ladies) and Caitlyn Hamilton (Crusaders Strikers), who have all previously played for Northern Ireland at underage level.
Natalie Johnston, a defender with Leicester City Ladies, has trained with the senior team in the past but this will be her first taste of a full training camp with the senior squad.
The remainder of the panel taking part in the three-day camp is made up of experienced players and up and coming young players who have already featured in the senior set-up.
Centurion Julie Nelson (Crusaders Strikers), veteran defender Ashley Hutton (Linfield Ladies), captain Marissa Callaghan (Cliftonville Ladies), Everton forward Simone Magill and midfielders Sarah McFadden (Durham Ladies) and Rachel Furness (Reading) are among the familiar faces who will be there.
Emma McMaster (Cliftonville Ladies), Brenna McPartlan (unattached), Megan Bell, Louise McDaniel and Kelsie Burrows (all Linfield Ladies) are some of the younger players called up by Wylie.
The 23-strong group are due to be put through their paces at Ulster University’s Jordanstown campus tomorrow (Friday 18 January) and the following day, and they will also be involved in tactical work and a practice game at the College of Agriculture, Food & Rural Enterprise’s Greenmount complex in Antrim on Saturday and Sunday.
