Portadown III defeated Glenavon U18 4-2 at Mourneview Park to secure a Harry Cavan Youth Cup semi-final place.
The game was a free flowing affair from the start but it took until the 25th minute for the deadlock to be broken when Portadown's Oisin Conaty calmly side-footed a shot past advancing Glenavon keeper Mark Matthews.
Glenavon tried to hit back immediately, albeit with no success although the remainder of the half was an entertaining end-to-end affair.
The Lurgan Blues levelled on 50 minutes through Sam Harpur's well executed close range finish but back came Portadown when Chris Hutchinson converted from the spot sening Matthews the wrong way.
And the Ports extended their lead with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining courtesy of Callum Ferris' powerfully hit shot from inside the area.
Glenavon continued to battle hard and grabbed their second on 82 minutes through Jessie Carson's near post tap-in to set up a grandstand finish.
However, Portadown struck again with just a couple of minutes remaining through 'man of the match' Conaty after he latched on to a perfect pass and dispatched a powerful shot from inside the area to wrap the game up.
