Hanover FC have recently completed their Irish FA McDonald’s Foundation Club Mark.
Presenting the award to Dean Crowe was the McDonald’s Rushmere manager along with Irish FA Regional Grassroots Development Officer Ken Duncan.
The award marks completion of a club audit looking at club structures such as club constitution, safeguarding policies/ procedures, a development plan, coach/volunteer/parent and player codes of conduct, equality policies plus several other areas specific to club development.
The club also received a bursary towards coach education for a Level 1 along with starter equipment and several weeks of coach mentoring for their nominated coaches who received the bursary.
Club representative Dean Crowe said on receiving the award: "This represents a significant step in the development of Hanover FC, especially considering club plans to develop our existing ground in conjunction with the Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council.
"Receiving the bursaries alongside coach mentoring is also a welcome addition especially when considering the difficulty securing financial help. This award allows Hanover FC to work towards the next club mark which in its self will help us become a more professionally run club.
"The McDonald’s Club Foundation Mark is a worthwhile programme and I would encourage any club to participate”.
