The 2016 Award categories are;
1. The Respect Award
This National award will recognise both referees and game officials including coordinators of Games Development Centres, club volunteers and spectators who promote fair play and respect amongst players and other spectators both on and off the pitch. In particular those who promote and demonstrate ‘Silent Sidelines’.
2. Volunteer of the Year
This Regional award recognises men and women who volunteer their time in any capacity in grassroots football and includes coaches, committee members, fundraisers, kit washers etc.
3. Accredited Club of the Year
This National award recognises clubs who have not only achieved but exceeded the minimum criteria for Foundation Mark Club status and worked continually with Irish FA Regional Grassroots Development Officers.
4. Young Volunteer of the Year
This National award recognises anyone under the age of 24 who volunteer their time in any capacity in grassroots football and includes coaches, committee members, fundraisers, particularly MV Goldmark Volunteers!
5. Disability Football Team of the Year
This National award recognises any club, school or community organisation who works with children or adults with special needs, and has excelled in promoting participation and or performance in 2016.
6. Coach of the Year
This Regional award recognises male and female accredited coaches with a minimum of a level one coaching qualification. In particular those who coach within the Games Development Centres.
