The draw for the quarter-finals of the Electric Ireland Girls’ Challenge Cup has been made.
The new competition has been introduced this season aiming to build Electric Ireland’s partnership with the Irish Football Association and its Game Changers NI campaign which aims to increase the opportunities for girls and women across Northern Ireland to be able to play and watch the beautiful game.
Carnmoney Ladies have been drawn at home to Portadown while Ballymena United Women face a trip to the winners of the first-round tie between Cliftonville Ladies and Rosario Ladies, which is set to be played on 22 October.
Ambassadors Girls welcome Ballymoney United Ladies to do battle for a place in the semi-finals while Linfield Ladies host Comber Rec Ladies.
All of the last-eight ties are scheduled to be played on Friday 29 October (7:30pm kick-offs).
Electric Ireland is already the lead sponsor for women’s and girls’ grassroots football, the Northern Ireland youth international teams as well as the elite player pathway and the title sponsor of the Northern Ireland senior women’s international team as part of its long-term commitment to women’s football.
