Northern Ireland senior women play their third and final game of the Pinatar Cup tonight when they take on Scotland.
Kenny Shiels’ side were edged out 1-0 by Iceland in their opening clash on Wednesday and fell to a 4-0 defeat against Ukraine on Saturday night.
This evening’s match presents another big challenge for Northern Ireland with the Scots having defeated Ukraine (3-0) and Iceland (1-0) to win the tournament with a game to spare.
The friendly competition, held at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia, is serving as warm-up for next month’s key UEFA Women’s Euro 2021 qualifier away to Belarus.
Shiels has used the games to blood young talent emerging from Northern Ireland’s women’s under-age teams. Across the opening two games he has already handed senior debuts to Kelsie Burrows, Danielle Maxwell, Toni-Leigh Finnegan and Casey Howe.
Northern Ireland last met Scotland five years ago when the Scots recorded a 4-0 success.
Tonight’s game kicks off at 7.30pm (GMT) and will be screened live on BBC Alba.
