Northern Ireland U17 star Charlie Allen has signed his first professional contract with Premier League side Leeds United.
The striker, who turned 17 last month, joined the Yorkshire club’s Academy in August, after moving from Linfield for an undisclosed fee.
The club today announced he has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal which will see him remain at Elland Road until the summer of 2023.
I feel like my game has evolved over the few months I have been here, I just want to keep getting as many minutes as I can, hopefully play for the Under-23s and of course the ultimate goal is to play first team football
The Carrickfergus native is a graduate of the JD Club NI programme operated by the Irish FA and has been playing regularly for Leeds’ Under 18s since his move to England.
“I’m really pleased, as a young kid you always dream of signing a professional contract,” he told Leeds’ official website.
“It’s my first one, I’ve got it and hopefully it’s the first of many, now it’s time to kick on with my career.”
He added: “I feel like my game has evolved over the few months I have been here, I just want to keep getting as many minutes as I can, hopefully play for the Under-23s and of course the ultimate goal is to play first team football.”
