The Northern Ireland senior men’s international squad welcomed the Northern Ireland U21 men’s panel to the Culloden Hotel tonight (Monday) for a joint dinner.
Michael O’Neill brought the two groups of players together to share experiences and to get to know each other ahead of matches for both squads this week.
O’Neill said: ‘With the two sets of players in the country at the same time, it was a great opportunity to bring the groups together and to share a meal in a relaxed environment.
‘The U21s are on a real roll at the minute, with manager Ian Baraclough doing an outstanding job. It was important to recognise that and to encourage our next generation of players ahead of their next games in their qualifying group.’
The U21s take on Spain at Portadown on Thursday night, before hosting Iceland at Coleraine next Monday. Michael O’Neill’s team play South Korea at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park on Saturday afternoon.
