Following a partial award last week, the arbitrator in the case of Warrenpoint Town, the Irish FA and Carrick Rangers FC today gave a final award, dismissing the applicant’s (Warrenpoint Town FC) claim and finding that the Irish FA’s Disciplinary Committee had exercised its discretion correctly in its original decision.
It stands therefore that Carrick Rangers FC will remain in the Danske Bank Premiership and Warrenpoint Town FC will start next season in the Championship. The Northern Ireland Football League (NIFL) has organised the second leg of the play-off between Ballinamallard FC and Institute FC for Wednesday (19:45).
Ballinamallard lead 2-1 from the first game.
