The picturesque setting of the Kilmore Road playing fields enabled the delivery of the practical and theory modules to be rolled out in a real football environment at Newry, Mourne and Down district council's flagship facility.
The enthusiastic candidates shone as they observed the latest good practice coaching drills, encouraging good set-up and organisation skills before delivering their own 15 minute practical session.
Irish FA Grassroots Development Officer Seamus Heath was delighted with the quality on show at his course.
"As a tutor it is very encouraging when you see coaches eager to learn and so willing to help each other, share information and make contacts for further friendships."
Seamus would like to thank his fellow Grassroots Development Officer, Joe Doherty, whose professional assistance was welcomed on the over-subscribed course.
This September, the district will hosted its first ever IFA Level 2 course.
The week long course will run from September 6-13 in Newcastle and the recently successful candidates will be in a position to take the next step on the coaching ladder.
