Colette Wilson, Marketing Manager for sponsor Irwin’s Bakery, said:
“We are delighted so many children took part in the Nutty Krust Holiday Camps in 2015. The camps, which are held across Northern Ireland, get more and more popular each year and we are happy to be part of such a strong grassroots programme.
“Each camp is a great opportunity for Northern Ireland children to improve their soccer skills and learn about the importance of an active lifestyle and that exercise can be fun. We would like to thank the Irish FA for a brilliant year on the pitch and we look forward to seeing even more little football stars next year!”
The Nutty Krust Holiday Camps, which are part of the Irish FA grassroots development programme, provide opportunities for children aged 5 - 13 to develop and improve their football skills over a short period of time, in a structured environment with professionally trained and vetted staff.
Ian Stewart, Grassroots Development Manager, Irish FA added:
“It has been a successful year for Irish FA Nutty Krust Holiday Camps and the large increase in numbers is testament to the quality of coaching at each event, as well as the friendly and fun environment that our staff create.
“The Irish FA recently launched a new strategy - ‘Let them Play’ which aims to double youth football participation rates in Northern Ireland by 2020. Programmes like our Nutty Krust Holiday Camps are central to achieving that aim and are hugely important as we seek to grow the game right across the country.
“I would like to thank Nutty Krust for their continued support of our holiday camps and I look forward to even more success over the next 12 months."
