Shankill Leisure Centre to host NI Women's Futsal League decider this weekend.
Northern Ireland’s senior women’s futsal champions for 2019-20 will be crowned on Friday night.
The Northern Ireland Women’s Futsal League, which kicked off back in November, has reached the final stage.
And competing in the decider at Shankill Leisure Centre in Belfast (8.15 start) will be Cliftonville and Sparta Belfast.
The league, sponsored by Cathedral Eye Clinic and run by the Irish FA Foundation, featured teams from across Northern Ireland.
Sparta booked their place in the final after defeating Linfield Ladies 6-4 in the last four.
The game was four-all at full time, however Sparta pushed hard and managed to score two further goals in extra time.
Crusaders Strikers, the reigning league champions, and Cliftonville were also all square at full time in their semi-final encounter.
In extra time both sides created chances, however Northern Ireland women’s futsal international Rachel McConnell pounced to score for the Reds and that was enough to seal Cliftonville’s place in the decider.
Belfast-based Cathedral Eye Clinic is the official eye health and laser surgery partner of the Irish Football Association – and its official futsal partner. A representative from the company and Irish FA Foundation chairman Jim Shaw will be on hand on Friday night to present the trophy to the winners.
