One Costa Rican family will have split loyalties on Sunday as Costa Rica host Northern Ireland at Estadio Nacional in San José.
The Esquivel family are Gillian (from Belfast), José (from Costa Rica), and football-mad children Diego (13) Fernando (10) and José Enrique (7).
Diego plays in the youth team of local club Deportivo Saprissa, one of the best teams in Costa Rica who are currently top of the Primera División, and is involved in the Costa Rican national team youth set-up.
He still has the possibility of playing for either the Costa Rica or Northern Ireland senior teams in the future.
